    Retirement!

Though this part of the guide probably belongs in the normal cRPG guide, I'll add it here because I think the normal one ran out of words in the post.

On your character screen, you will now notice that instead of level, you now have Age.
Your character's age is their level + 15, so if you are level 15 your character will be 30 years old. Your level is displayed in brackets next to your age.

Also, below Gold, you now have a new feature called 'Generation'. You will start at generation 1.

    To retire, follow this guide:

    1) Create a new profile. Login to a cRPG server with the new profile, then logout once you have received the 'updated information for your player' message thing.

    2) Next go to your character page and login with your usual (not the new) profile info. Then scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a section of the page called Retirement.
There is a link called 'an heir is born'. Click on this link.

    3) You will now see a menu of heirloom items. These are items that you have in your inventory. To make them an heirloom item, you are changing their normal stats by adding a modifier (like the ones in SP, masterwork, balanced, heavy etc). This gives you a unique item that you keep after retirement.
Choose your heirloom item wisely. Look at all the possibilities, and select one that will fit your next build. Most modifiers add difficulty, so higher tier heirloom items will need a lot of strength/PD etc.
Also, remember that in future retirements you can stack modifiers on the same item.
You will not be able to heirloom an item that you don't meet the difficulty requirements for.

    4) Once you have chosen your item, look above the item menu. There is a selection box there - select your new profile (made in step 1) from the box. Then click confirm. You have now retired!
Your old character is deleted. Your Strategus character changes to the new one, and keeps all gold/troops/equipment/fiefs/faction status.

    You are now generation 2!

Retirement has requirements. Firstly, you need to pay gold, equivalent to your generation x5000. So the first retirement costs 5k gold, the second 10k.
Secondly, you must be level 15 to retire the first time. The next time is level 16, so it rises by one for each generation.
Thirdly, you must have played with your new character for at least a week before you can retire.

    Retirement also has many benefits.

    1) You get an heirloom item. Each time you retire, you can add a modifier to your item. So you can stack modifiers, or have one modifier on many items. (I'll try to get hold of a chart showing modifiers available per generation for each item)

    2) 5% of your current weapon proficiency points are transferred over. This increases to 10% for the next retirement.

    3) You also gain xp faster with each retirement.

    4) You keep all your items and gold from your old character.

So, a 2nd generation character will level faster, and won't have to spend as much wpf points as a 1st generation character. They will also have an heirloom item. This advantage increases the more times you retire.

Thats it for now, I'll add the maths later for each retirement, and I'll try to find a chart for the heirlooms.
