!S Axis Forces and congratulations on victory in campaign #56.
The past several campaign starts have been characterized by Allied advances at Ciney then southeast from Ciney toward Bertrix. Allied ownership of these means they can position themselves to advance through the South in the direction of our factories.
We will attempt to counter by advancing to the Muse river Northwest of bertrix from Haybes to Dinant. We have also positioned ourselves to withstand an Allied attack through the center between Geel and Andenne which is another favored Allied initial push.
Our potential weak areas are Antwerp area where we only have 1 Division (2Panzer) and the southern flank from Boullion to Luxembourg where the allies may put the bulk of their forces as they did for #56. We would have easily countered this I believe if we had managed to hold Namur.
If we can attain a defensible buffer of Ciney and the Northwest approach to Bertrix by capturing towns on the muse river, I believe we can rebuff any allied threat at either flank.
Initial Orders for Campaign #57
Priority Attacks are
1) Longwy- As always it is Key to shortening our Southern line and protecting Bertrix-Bitburg-Wiltz from a southern attack.
2)Any Muse river Town between Haybes and Anhee- Attack in this area will be determined by allied placments, we will attack the weakest part here and with proper attack sequencing we can force allied withdraws from other riverline towns.
3)Luven, Wavre or Gemlbloux- Press this area if we succeed in holding off a major Allied offensive we should be able to keep some units in reserve to counter attack with. Allies may also be weak in this area as they were in #56 if they commit to a flank attack. Our goal will be to capture links to Brux but more importantly Namur which will prove to be the final step to attaining a stronghold on the Muse.
