zuerst wird der patch auf dem liveserver getestet mit dem kill a rat event

G'day ladies and germs, here is this weeks release and live server schedule.

Intermission #18 is going to end today, it is clearly an Allied victory as the Axis breakout pocket was crushed ... although the Axis are to be commended that they moved the "Allied Wall" of defense back a row of towns from Cassel to Corbie, and held them throughout the event. At one point Dunkerque was captured but the Allies got it back again.

Good show everyone, hope the torpedo action was fun !

We have v1.26 patch *almost* ready for release. A couple of things still need tidying up but we're so very close. This creates a situation where we are going to do something a little different this week.

We have the "Kill a Rat" event opening tommorrow, starting at 12:00 noon CST (6:00pm GMT) and running for 2 hours, and it will run again on Wednesday from 7:00pm CST (1:00am GMT) for another 2 hours ... we don't really want to run this event during the first days of a real campaign, it might not be a favourable influence on your regular wargame. At the same time, we would also like to have the release of the v1.26 patch and all it's yummy goodness coincide with the start of the new campaign ... it just works out better that way for everyone, despite the drama of the extra delay it is the better option for most of us, developers and players alike.

So as soon as we can get the nessesary file shuffle that a reset always means, arranged and ready to go, we are going to bring the host servers down and reset for "Intermission to Kill a Rat" which basically means an open arena for 2 days, but no intermission rules just lot's of equipment, and the "Kill a Rat" events of course ... kind of a giant shooter while we get ready for the patch and the start of campaign #35 which is now set for Thursday the 19th of April.

It'll be a good chance for you all to relax, destress and maybe hunt down us Rats who will all be playing ... the HC's will still be required to set AOs but there no pressure to win as it isn't a campaign, so we hope they can see a more relaxed appraoch as kind of a break.

We can get the new campaign underway with the new patch and then hunker down for some serious wargaming in the new campaign with all the new stuff up and running when we release v1.26 to you, the rabid addicted horde that you are. B]

For those who feel a little miffed about a further 2 days delay ... in the grand scheme of the long term game, we apologize for any delay but this is the best option we have taking everything into account that is setting the present scene of how things are shaping up.

We'll be seeing what we can do to "open it up a little" with regard to AO availability, but there are some limitations we face there since we can't exactly recode anything this instant so we have to work with what we have..

We'll be resetting the arena today sometime, the downtime should be fairly minimal.
