The Battle for Launois continues
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/Svedala/Ad/a1.jpg (Feldwebel Zkai) On Sunday the 24th of september, strong axis forces with Oastus Lagus and the 7. ID as spearhead attacked Launois. The officer in charge, Kommandeur Zeta, led the attack and Oberstleutnant Schakal had command of 7. Infanterie Division. After several hours of heavy fightings our forces withdrew to re-group and stock up on ammo and schnapps. Fliegers from Susipartio joined for airsupport. After yesterdays heavy fightings around the area of Sommeby and Mazagran the 7. ID marched towards Launois again. The 7. ID got the permission to attack again from HC dukeacem.

Befehl Vonskull joins the attack from the west side
The Forward base was taken rather quickly by the enemy as they had an active Sabotage team that monitored our movement in the area, Major Auris, 7. ID placed his satchels on the enemy forward base and only 3 out of 4 hit the spot, so he was sent back to get another satchel and the remaining vehicle spawn was blown, sky high. The lack of defenders at the fb made the mission a great success. Our attack of the day before had probably already weaken them and they were still asleep and their Sabotage team lost. Kommandeur Dukeacem arrived at the scene of the build-up and gave command to Feldwebel Zkai and the body of panzers moved towards the town. As the first wave of our brave infantry hit the town they quickly gained momentum and could put overwhelming pressure on the sleepy defenders, much thanks to dedicated Opel drivers positioned around the town. Major Auris ( http://events.wwiionline.com/scripts/services/persona/sortie.jsp?sid=12963065&pid=343397&page=1) had a pak ready and fired precisely into the first line of enemy tanks that arrived from the army base. The Allied forces called for help and their command sent heavy reinforcements. Major Auris was later able to take out 5 enemy units with a sapper, including 4 enemy tanks (after checking each single satchel for functioness). Among the dead bodies we found the remains of a allied Brigader General, still with a cupper in his hands.
After another call for assistence on radiochannel 29, soldats from other Kampfgruppes arrived. The newly formed 12. Schützen-Regiment joined the attack under command of Kommandeur Sajer43, Befehlshaber des 12. Schützen-Regiment and Timo84, Stellvertrender Befehlshaber. Under pressure of a large ammount of the newly developed Stuarts the attack was taken back for reorganisation. I was positive that the town would fall under the pressure of my next wave. Soldats Alzheima, Auris, Wein, Best583, Berserk4, Naib and Zkai took part in the attack on behalf of 7. Infanterie Division.
