Ok well the Allies pulled off a stunning strategic victory on Friday night ... closing down all Axis production and research of new weapons by pushing through to the Ruhr Valley and capturing the Axis RDP facilities located there.

This closes Campaign #24 and it is declared an Allied victory.

We are preparing to reset the map for an intermission that will serve several purposes. While we are doing this I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all our Nth.American customers a happy thanksgiving (I'm actually food poisoned how about that !?!) and to the rest of our WWIIOL community around the world, happy whatever it is you're doing now. B)

The objectives of this intermission are:

1. To give all our Axis players a chance to try out the Tiger tank which the Allies denied entering the game during this last campaign through their stunning srategic moves and the good luck and fate which often accompanies either sides victory. Unbeknown to most the Axis strategy for RDP was a reversal of the regular pattern this campaign, and might have worked brilliantly but for the Allies also reversing their regular campaign strategy at the same time. I think this took everyone by surprise including the CinC's and their command staff.

2. Other objectives are more singularly depicted. While the center piece of the intermission period is the capture or defense of Antwerp ... we will be counting several other criteria after the intermission in order to support a few things both we (CRS) and the player probably want to know.

i) M10 versus Tiger tank with Sherman in support. How well will this matchup really work out ? We have the set-up such that the Tiger is outnumbered by the M10 at approximate odds of 4:1 ... with the Sherman in support (matched up by the Pz.IVg and StuG.IIIg on the Axis side) this is an opportunity for those "tiger hunters" out there to show their true mettle. We'll be scoring that match-up post intermission so be sharp those of you in M10s and Tigers.

ii) The Churchill VII as a defensive tank. We know it isn't a great offensive tank because it's slow. With Antwerp as the intermission infantry objective (capture it if you're Axis, hold it if you're BEF) can the strong defensive armour of the Churchill VII help to keep Antwerp in BEF infantry hands for the entire intermission ? We'll be scoring infantry on the basis of who holds Antwerp at the end of the event, and what towns fell in support of the attack or even the defense should the BEF spread their grip beyond Antwerp to the northern and/or eastern towns.

iii) Pilots, all of you uber dogfighters, not a dweeb among you ! With all the last tier (2) fighters available, as well as good numbers of tier 1 fighters and fighter bombers and no rank restrictions ... we'll be watching the K : D ratios and statistics of these aircraft as numbers are evenly spread of all fighter types between countries.

iv) Naval forces will be stacked at Antwerp, Vlissingen and Helleveotsluis so that naval resources can battle for supremacy of sea-borne support for the attack or defense of Antwerp.

We're thinking we'll call this one "Stat HO Weekend" ... we should have it ready to go soon, so hang tight, go eat some leftover turkey or something. B)
